I started attending DeRidder High School as a virtual student in 2020, the school did next to nothing for me as a virtual student, poor communication with my freshmen year English teacher is what made my GPA plummet. The first year every virtual student's needs were neglected, they did nothing. My sophom*ore year at Deridder was better than before, I had acclimated to society a lot better after the year of isolation, but our school's administration was still very iffy with their treatment of students. However, where the administration failed, the teachers (most of them) would make up for it. Specifically, the English and theatre teacher Mrs. Lestage, over the years of my high school experience, has always gone above and beyond for students and isn't just a wonderful teacher but a wonderful person as well. Overall, Deridder high school is alright for kids, socially it's alright and what the administration lacks in empathy the teachers make up for in human decency and support .

DeRidder High School does not get updated often. It is very old and needs remodeling. The teachers are amazing and the administration is getting better. The teachers really care about the students, however, they do not have many resources to work with.
