Because we are in the slow space between seasons and looking for something to discuss, what were your favorite individual plays from 2023-2024? I will throw out a few of my favorites just off the top of my head:

  • Milan's fadeaway jumper from the baseline against Houston.
  • Hasan's putback dunk off his own free throw miss against Oklahoma.
  • Tre's 4th three pointer of the game against Kansas (and the look Bill Self gave TJ as he held up 4 fingers and shook his head)
  • BRE with the reverse bucket against Iowa, fouled, muscled up and hit the free throw.
  • I have trouble remembering which of Lipsey's steals and breakaways I liked best.
  • Just realized I didn't even mention a Gilbert play!

Seeing the sheer terror on the Iowa freshmen guards' faces like they were going to poop their pants every time they tried to get the ball past half court against us was my favorite.

I would have to go review some film to pick a specific instance. But more than once, when things were going sideways and everyone was puckering, Curtis Jones stepped up and turned it around. He'd make a steal for a layup, or hit a confident 3. And just casually act like nothing was ever in doubt, and jump back on D.

In case of emergency, call CuJo.

My favorite Curtis play was his clutch block against BYU

The first one that comes to mind is Gilbert’s dagger 3 against KU

Beat me to it.

Honorable mention to D. Watson's huge game against Oklahoma at home, particularly his corner 3 that helped him go 7-7 from the field.

Lipsey's mid-air steal and pass to Gilbert for a 3 that put us up something like 22-23pts against Iowa. Capped off like a 9-0 scoring run for Gilbert.

Gilbert to Ward ally-oop against SDSU in the NCAA tournament where Gilbert got stuck in the air and just threw the ball straight up. Ward came out of no where to throw it down.

BRE's run out dunk to close out the 2nd round win.

There were many style points type of plays but my favorites are the 'nope, not today' response to any challenges.

Linsey’s steal and mid-air pass to Gilbert was the first play that popped in my head when I saw this thread. Gilbert had just scored a basket right before that, so he ended up scoring 5 points in just a few seconds!
