How many questions are on the letrs unit 1 assessment? ›

Unit assessments (10 questions) are given at the end of each LETRS unit. Volumes 1 and 2 each have four unit assessments. The unit assessment is not timed, and you can reference your notes or manual. You will see your score and incorrect answers as soon as you finish a unit assessment.

Unit 3 of LETRS explores basic phonics skills, defines common terminology and digs into how to teach phonics and spelling within a comprehensive phonics lesson plan.

LETRS Online Learning Platform — Each unit in the online learning platform consists of sessions. Units 1-4 each have eight sessions, and Units 5-8 each have six sessions. To reinforce your understanding, you will complete activities throughout each session.

Code-emphasized instruction requires students to look carefully at words, sound them out, then check to see if the word makes sense. It should be noted that with code-emphasis instruction, meaning is not excluded; instead, the emphasis for beginning instruction in learning to read is focused on the code.

The time to complete the reading, online, and Bridge to Practice activities will vary, but as a rough guide, each volume takes approximately 48-60 hours of individual study to complete. Online course (including reading/participant manual): approximately eight hours per unit.

Time. To qualify for a reading endorsem*nt, a participant must complete at least 40 hours of online coursework. The LETRS platform automatically logs a participant's time spent in the LETRS course. * This time must be at least 32 hours in order for a participant to qualify for a reading endorsem*nt.

Code-emphasis approaches emphasize accuracy of reading words in sentences; meaning- emphasis approaches emphasize guessing at unfamiliar words or skipping unfamiliar words to maintain the flow of reading. In a well-designed code-emphasis approach, the emphasis changes overtime.

Code-based strategies focus on the use of phonics to decode the words in a text. Meaning-based strategies focus on context which helps the student understand the meaning of a word in a text. Code-based reading assessments are used to evaluate whether students are using sounds, or phonics, to help recognize words.

The data we looked at is based on assessments that were completed by five or more students. Overall, teachers seem to keep assessments to an average of 11.4 questions for elementary school teachers and 15.3 for middle and high schoolers. Below is a breakdown of the information.

Scoring the CPN exam. The CPN exam contains 175 multiple-choice items. Of these, 150 are scored questions and 25 are non-scored pretest questions. Pretest questions are dispersed throughout the exam and are not distinguishable from scored questions.
