Hey everyone! After much thought and introspection, I’m on the lookout for a new role and would really appreciate your support. With the rapidly changing landscape of DEI in Higher Education, I feel now is the right time to explore opportunities in other fields. I am a dynamic leader with over 20 years of advancing & supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and access initiatives. As someone deeply committed to my community, I would like to bring my skills, experience, & expertise to an organization in the Greater Baton Rouge area, but I am open to exploring other opportunities--including remote & hybrid work. If you hear of any exciting opportunities or are open to chatting, send me a message or comment below! #OpenToWork

CW: Sexual Violence In the late 1990s the Supreme Court in Italy overturned the conviction of a rapist because his victim was wearing tight jeans. The justices theorized that it was not possible for someone to remove tight jeans with out assistance from the person wearing the jeans. The justices stated that the victim must have assisted her rapist in removing her jeans and therefore, she gave consent. The day after the Italian Supreme Court overturned the conviction, women in Italy wore jeans and protested on the steps of the Supreme Court. This protest made international news and the protest was replicated in California. Peace Over Violence adopted denim day and it has grown from a local movement to an international one. The last Wednesday in April (sexual assault awareness month) is Denim Day. It’s a day to wear denim in solidarity with survivor and to question, challenge, and dismantle beliefs (internal, community, & cultural) about victim blaming & rape culture. #supportsurvivors #saam24 #denimday

Since 2007, I have been involved in Take Back the Night and to say that I am proud of the amazing officers & members of Feminist in Action is an understatement! FIA took over TBTN last year and executed an amazing & survivor-centered event tonight. The torch has officially been passed! #supportsurvivors #takebackthenight #SAAM #proudadvisor

Thank you to the Louisiana District Attorneys Association for inviting me to speak at your annual conference for Victim Assistance Coordinators. I was asked to speak about finding your voice as an advocate and decided to take some of my own advice and leverage this opportunity with some much-needed self-care & pool time. You can’t be your best for others if you are not at your best! It’s hard to remember and prioritize that when the work you do is so critical. Let’s connect about how I can support your next conference, training, or workshop with a presentation tailored to your unique needs! #training #selfcare #resilience #victimsupport #supportsurvivors #deistrategy

One of my favorite days of the year! Each year the LSU Discover Undergraduate Research Program hosts #Discoverday to highlight research by undergraduate students at Louisiana State University and other regional IHE. I always learn something and this year was no exception! From Irish saints who performed abortions on nuns to strategies used by women politicians to raise election funds, the students this year were phenomenal! #research #students #scholarshipfirst

LaFASA is the statewide coalition serving sexual assault centers in Louisiana. The mission of LAFASA is to empower survivors, engage advocates, and change systems & social norms to end sexual violence in Louisiana. I have had the honor of serving on the Board since 2014 and I am excited to serve as Board President for 2022-2023. Along with a dynamic executive committee, committed board members, & dedicated staff, I look forward to what we will accomplish this year. Now more than ever, survivors need strong voices and fierce advocacy in Louisiana.
